Prayer – entreating of God’s M

Let the soul know that in order to pray and persevere in prayer it must arm itself with patience and bravely battle against the external and inner adversities –  inner adversities such as discouragement, spiritual aridity, sloth, and temptations; and external ones such as human respect – and it must keep those times which are reserved for prayer (Diary 147).
